My 5 year old started mid season this year and had her first dress rehearsal last Friday. Her brother’s normally-on-time-bus was 30 minutes late due to a flat tire that we weren’t notified about, making her/us 30 minutes late to recital. As we walked into the auditorium her class was walking onto the stage and she burst into tears (she hates to be late to anything). Rehearsal is SO, SO busy and I was doing my best to console my girl but I knew there wasn’t a way to fix it- we missed it and I was not going to ask for any exceptions and that was that. But one of the rehearsal helpers quickly pulled me aside and said “in a little bit we’re going to have her class go back out and do the dance again so she can do it”, and I about cried. They in no way, shape or form had to do that for my daughter- one child in an auditorium filled of dancers. That rehearsal goes from like 3:30-8:30 at night- it’s no joke- and offering to run her dance again without me even asking about it was the nicest kindness. We are new to the dance world- my girl had never been on a stage before (info Generations probably didn’t even know)- and this hiccup could have been one of those moments that made her not want to pursue dance anymore, but thanks to their unsolicited kindness, it wasn’t. My daughter went home happy, excited and proud that evening, and that’s something I will always be thankful for.
So if you’re looking for a dance studio, here’s your sign to check out Generations! My daughter has loved her class, teachers and friends, and I’m incredibly thankful for their kind hearts.
