Performances
There are many reasons Generations is a great place for families, but the best might be the "Family Friendly Recitals!" One of our first families at Generations described the dress rehearsals and recitals like this: "The recitals are 'short and sweet'-lasting about an hour - my son and husband love this! And, because they are at Westerville Central, there is free parking and virtually no travel time making it a really convenient event for the entire family! And dress rehearsal only lasts about an hour!"

Generations dancers begin learning their recital routines in January. Shortly thereafter, dancers will receive their costumes! Our staff will take care of all alterations! Another Generations Extra!

Recital Photos
Recital Photos will be taken during classes in February or March. Every student will receive a complimentary photo for each class he or she is a participant! Another Generations Extra! In addition to the photo session being a memorable event, it is another opportunity for us to make sure everything is just perfect in preparation for the recital.

Dress Rehearsals
Our Dress Rehearsals are hassle-free! Each class is given a specific time to be ready to go at Westerville Central. You won't need to be there more than an hour if your child is in one dance!! This is also a special time when you can move right up to the front and videotape and photograph your child on stage. The Dress Rehearsal is scheduled for May 1st 2019!

Recitals

The location of Generation's recitals is at Westerville Central High School. The address is 7118 Mt. Royal Avenue; Westerville, OH 43082. Generation's recitals are kept "short and sweet." We will have 8 recitals over the weekend. Each class will participate in one performance. We typically place families with more than one student, or more than one dance in the same show when possible! The Generations recital times are scheduled for the convenience of our families. If you know you will have a conflict with any of the recital times, please let us know as soon as possible. We will make every effort to be accommodating. Our times will be 5:00, 6:30, and 8:00 on Friday and 10:15, 12:30, 2:30, 4:30, and 6:30 on Saturday. The recitals for 2019 are May 15th and 16th.

Recital Tickets

Every family will be able to request tickets for the recital at no charge. This is to ensure there is enough seating for your entire family! There is a recital fee of $50 to cover some of the expenses of the performance in lieu of paying for tickets. If you do not have a dancer and would like to request tickets, contact us at studio@gen-pac.com .

Fourth Fridays

Generations participates in most of the Westerville Fourth Friday events right in front of Generations.

Benefits of Performances

At Generations, we believe performance is one of the best gifts of dance! It is fun and exciting to get up on stage and show parents and family what you have learned! But the confidence that develops from successful performance carries through to adulthood! Former dancers come back and tell us how beneficial learning to be in front of an audience has been in helping them in their careers and in life!

Other Performances

Once your child has participated in their first recital and is 7 years old, there are additional performance opportunities! If this is something you would like to participate in, just let us know. Many of these performances are Community Service based including Christmas for the Generations a Holiday Spectacular, Pride & Spirit, 4th of July Parades, 4th Friday events, and school functions.

Christmas for Generations: A Holiday Spectacular (formerly the Westerville Christmas Spectacular)

We are set for "Christmas for the Generations: A Holiday Spectacular" on Friday and Saturday December 16th and 17th. The show is an annual event produced, directed and choreographed by the Generations staff and performed by Generations students. Students with previous dance experience who are 7 years old or above may apply to participate in this exciting production at registration! Another Generations Extra! This gives the students the experience of being in a show that is just like a professional production!! The show is located at Cowan Hall (30 S Grove St, Westerville, OH 43081).

There are two children's concerts at 11:00 and 1:15. You'll see "Frosty The Snowman," tap dancing "Penguins" and the "Hippo" everyone wants for Christmas. The full-length show in the afternoon and evening feature Generations dancers in a musical celebration of the hustle and bustle of the season, including tap-dancing reindeer, dancing dolls and more! The show ends with an emotional scene in Bethlehem celebrating the true meaning of the season. Tickets can be found by going to: http://www.buy.tututix.com/genpac This is a show your family won't want to miss!

The Pride and Spirit of America

"The Pride and Spirit of America" was given rave reviews by the audience this summer! This program is dedicated to the men and women who serve and preserve the freedom we enjoy here in the USA. We were able to support Honor Flight in the past by donating $500 to help a veteran on this journey. The show is set for June 17th, 2022 at 6:30pm at Westerville Central High School. Tickets are on sale. All Service Men and Women as well as Veterans will receive free admittance with the Military or Veteran ID. We look forward to honoring more of our service men and women in the future!!!
